There's another way to kill the rancor but it will cost for the health of your other party members. This might have been just a fluke for me but if you get caught by the Rancor run past it as it destroys your other party members and to the door. (Sorry you can't open it.) But just stand there until it returns. It can't see you and since your beneth the thing over the door it can't attack you. Just throw grenades at it and soon it will die.

no just go over to the dead body and put in odur synthesiers and a grenade and it will eat the body and then the grenade will go off killing it
