Would it be possible to include a "switch" (manual or automatic) in the trainers ?

I don't want to lose a good trainer when they(MS) decide to launch a new version of IE.

If the trainers could check for the .key before trying to verify through internet, that would save a ton of complaints and disagreements and I would be able to keep playing my games without having to uninstall and reinstall IE all the time.

It appears that not a soul would reply to my previous post

Yep I know, way too much work for this limited crew of dedicated scripters (nope, I didn't say critters ) who have more work daily and might/would need help to unravel the mysteries of new computer programing language(s) thru new game engines (yep, bad programming too) - been there, done that with IBM 32 who was "talking" in RPG 2, had to translate to TRS80 Basic to connect the company's several workplaces (before internet) and I still remember the sleepless nights trying to fix others lack of knowledge.

Hope you enjoy my little humor in this dry PNP (transistors point of view) life

Does Windows 8 not allow you to control your own updates? Just don't update IE.

Basicly have IE9 as a minimum and you should be fine if you have win 7. Unless you are crazy and got win 8 a shocking still uncompatable mess then you are stook just dont update IE!

As to it checking the net. It does that first then for a key is see no probs with that. Also didnt notice your post.

Why do you think MS build new IEs?

Is it to make more money and/or to upgrade our security?

Could be both, hmmm, it sound like your pc never been attacked by viruses, Trojan, keyloggers...

    Lucky you

In fact IE is adapted for each successive version of Windows and failing to install the latest would put your pc at great risk, but you know...time will tell

    Let me clarify something firstly

The trainers that have problems are older trainers, now those have been done and dusted, and more likely than not the original coding and pointers/code injections for the options are long gone, some older ones were done by a guy called [sheep] before caliber came to the site.

So it will be virtually impossible to do that for them, not to mention if they did have all the info still it would take a eon to update every single old trainer.

You can have IE9 and use another browser instead, that is fine. Doesn't matter if you keep yourself up to date with security fixes etc, there is not one 100% option to keep you safe, bar one, to stay offline and use reliable sources for media.

I'm still using old trainers for old games and I still have working trainers from Sheep (great memories, no net checks and free trainers).

You're absolutely right about being 100% safe - impossible... would you enlarge the small hole in your boat to make sure you drown faster?

And I wasn't thinking about old trainers(10-20yrs), I was talking about future trainers and future IEs.

Or maybe, it's already in your plans to update all the trainers after each successive new version of IE ?

Thank you for replying, it is appreciated and I think my question is still valid.

Would it be possible to check the .key file before connecting to the web/net ?

Must give you some info when the trainer goes online (statistics).

Future trainers will be fine, touch wood, it was just a small problem with IE10's urlmon.dll file not liking the old trainers, that has since been fixed. So I don't see the problem arising in the future.
