Some co-workers of mine are running a server so I'm playing there. I hear ya on the wrecking your stuff which is exactly why I was looking for a smaller less-public server to join.

For those using a locally hosted server, be sure you have atleast 8GB of RAM.
After a while the server can use up to 3GB of RAM, the game itself can use upwards of 2GB.
And ill never see myself paying $12+ just to have a dedicated server when I get to use my own server and its free.

Why would the server ram be going over 3gbs? Is it not releasing memory after use?

Memory Leak I imagine..
I found the game server to be using nearly 3.5GB last night after a good number of hours running.
