oh feel free to correct me if my information is wrong.thanks
Agreed...personally, I'd rather see alpha/beta/early access games excluded from the list of available requests. They are just waaay too much work for the staff, and I do not want to see anyone get burned out or have this site go under because people request too many of these type of games. To be honest, outside of MMOs, I do not understand the idea of wanting to play a game before it is finished...most games have finite replay value as-is, and to play it before it is finished seems silly to me.
Just my 2 cents, though...
Seems like the game came out of the blue, gathered a lot of interest and then slammed all of it's non-kickstarter customers into the brick wall that is the current AAA price.

Technically, it's even better than that. From the developer comments:
"We’re starting out at $59.99 and you’re going to get a lot for your money over time, including a truckload of digital extras, including:
-- A free copy of Wasteland 1 - The Original Classic
-- Two digital novellas set in The Wasteland world
-- Mark Morgan's Wasteland 2 OST in digital format
-- A digital concept art book
* We expect the final release price will be lower, but the free copy of Wasteland 1 and the extra goodies are exclusive to Early Access"
So, basically, they are charging people EXTRA to beta test, and they are willing to give you a couple novellas, the original DOS game, and pics for it...all of which they say are ONLY available to early access customers, when we all know how well that ends up working on the internet. Now, don't get me wrong, I like alot of the guys that are with inXile, but this is ridiculous. I think they realized after the fact that they took a big chunk out of their profit margins by giving free copies of Wasteland2 away to Torment backers that paid over $45. (if I remember correctly) Hey, I know they are trying to cut costs, since they are not going the publisher route, but releasing a half-finished game, then charging MORE for it seems like a cheesy practice at best. Oh, AND they are only putting out 30% of the game levels. (besides all of the stuff that is missing/not finished because it is still in beta)
As much as I love Wasteland. Oh and hate this parctice of making the gamers beta testers. Is just mother . Plus when I look at what they are giving. Its just a weak Collectors Version. But not calling it one either for that matter.
I have to agree with you there,
It is indeed quite a poor collector for the price they ask.
Well, they are not the first and certainly not last either to use this move to get players to be beta-testers.
