As instructed by Chris (PWizard) to post my issue here: www.cheathappens.com/show_board2.asp?headID=120714&titleID=20004 along with my game exe and a savegame if possible. Just as @Atrixwolfe posted, I too can not get the gold option to work. The ability & talent points are working for me.
Thanks for this trainer by the way and the site for these fun cheats, looking forward to a fix.

installed 4 year old game
ran trainer
ran game
F1 at main menu
ACTIVATED
had to start new character as apparently saves didn’t exist
played 20 minutes until I could actually open the character menu (press I)
press I, noted gold says 0
pressed Numpad 3.. PLEASE WAIT.. ACTIVATED
pressed I to leave, pressed I to come back, Gold 999999
repeat for other options, all options working 100%
