XCOM: Enemy Within Message Board  

Does anyone know if there is a way to mod the default starting stats of soldiers? I would like better soldiers than the standard 40 will, 65 aim, 5 health, 0 def, but manually adding single points to each soldier takes FOREVER and the super value option in the trainer creates soldiers that never miss and can never be hit or mind controlled. I've seen several different places in the DefaultGameCore.ini file where it lists starting values, as well as the modifiers for each dificulty level, but when I've changed them and then launched and started a new game, the soldiers still have the default stats. Am I doing something wrong, or can it not be done?

*edit* I found a cheat table for CoSMOS that lets me modify a soldier to the desired values in the barracks in one go, but I'm still interested in knowing if theres any way to change the values in DefaultGameCore.ini and have the game use them, as it seems to contain everything from armor HP and defense bonuses to weapons damage to stats of every unit in the game and a whole host of other stuff it would be nice to be able to play around with.
