I read that GFWL is goiing to be canceled. This is one source but not the only one:

    Link

I wondering what this means for games like Fallout 3, Fable 3 or Dead Rising 2? Will my games be lost? Will my data be lost? Will I still be able to play them?

What does everyone else here think about it? All my GFWL games go through steam so maybe there will be a paycj. Of course, I'm sure devolpers have long since stopped working on many of these older games which again makes me wonder....what's goiing to happen? 🤔

I'm glad to see it gone, for AAA titles the devs will most likely patch it out of the game. I'm just sad to see it take AOE Online with it.

That's interesting, I too have Warhammer series games and GTA IV on Steam, so I wonder what the hell is going to happen to those.

    Aside from that, good riddance.

It is now considered a depreciated service in favor of the new platform introduced with Windows 8. Right now the marketplace where you buy games on this service is closed and no games can be bought. You can still download the client and play games you have on it though.

Ninety-nine percent of my GFWL games were run via Steam anyway... quite frankly the dual-game client thing was annoying.

I am glad to see it gone, it was a joke... a marketplace that never really had a market.
That is the smartest thing I have ever heard anyone say about anything.

What about older games like Bioshock 2 that rely on GFWL? I bought my copy on steam but will I still able to play it and save my games?

I was thinking of buying Street Fighter Vs. Tekkan but that too uses GFWL and Capcom no longer supports it. So if a developer no longer supports the game will they still run?

I hate GFWL myself too. Glad to see the go but I hope it doesn't mess up my library.

I am not sure on this. I have Halo 2 For Windows Vista which was never a game in clients but a retail disc. I'm not sure what will happen to my copy if they shutdown the services behind it completely.
