Hey guys.

I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a Wireless network manager that wasn't driver specific. Windows 8 removed the "Manage Wireless Networks" section in the "Network and Sharing Centre" and I have tried Intel Proset (But it doesn't work because I don't have an intel wireless card) and WiFi8 (But I don't like it because I can't do any management to the wireless networks.. just view them.)

I have a Broadcom 802.11n wireless card if that helps, I don't get any more specific information from Device Manager then that.

I checked Broadcoms website for their alternative to Intel Proset and couldn't find anything. But I figured I would ask the community, and if no one knows, I'll go ask /g/!

typically your router has a "set-up" page where you can view your network, set restrictions, block/unblock stuff based upon various things like IP addresses or MAC addresses...junk like that. Typically this site allows you to view all devices connected to your network (wireless or otherwise) and allows you to set permissions, configure devices etc... Usually you access this through your web browser.

The site address should be in your router set-up guides somewhere or you could do a quick search on Google to find it, just be careful if you use Google There are a lot of fake set-up sites out there though so I'd check your router set-up literature first or call your ISP...

What's I'm looking for is a program that includes the features found in Windows 7 (and previous) for managing Wireless Network Connections. See: Link

I dont think there is any. But Neo may know. But this makes me want to stay away from 8 even more.

Oh, I see. Sorry 'bout that, lol. I thought you could still do that using the WinX Command Prompt...Although that seems to be a bit of a pain in the rear to do it that way.....

I don't have a problem using cmd, that's actually what I've been doing today. I would just prefer something that I don't have to type out repeatedly if I'm just trying different settings again and again.

And I did try that explorer shell mod, but unfortunately it doesn't work anymore. Thanks though.

And @Servius I was planning on asking Neo originally, but posting here was less clicks . Also I'm only suffering from this problem because I have a wireless card. If you don't have one (or have a desktop and most likely used a wired connection) it won't affect you.

The wireless management in Windows 8 was not removed. It was moved to the Charms menu. To access click on your network icon in the notification area. Any networks you've chosen "Connect Automatically" should appear and be right clickable like in this screenshot:
