with compatabilitie tool running FTL is still crashing the instant you press F1 and not even activating the trainer
however i am getting the initial "activated" from the compat tool
this makes absolutely no sense. F1 is activating the trainer.. so how can you 'not even activating the trainer' after you already press F1?
you are probably doing something wrong. Also, make sure you have the latest tool.

I don't know if there is any correlation over this, but it seems to me that all of these issues started after Steam Cards were introduced. It may be that they are trying to keep us cheaters from gaining cards for free. But aren't the cards only for Source games?
You can't really cheat to get cards, if you have card drops remaining you actually can just go AFK somewhere and you'll continue to get card drops without playing. Trainers do not help card drops at all, and if you have a lot of money to spare, then there is definitely no limit to cards / badges / whatever you can get. You don't get cards from completing achievements sadly. So I see no reason why Steam would ban, unless if they are going to implement gaining XP from completing achievements in SP.
