Um, so yeah everyone's been QQing about this all day long, where does it say you absolutely must buy the alpha or beta?

nowhere, but you're missing the point, if people support this, they're sending the signal that we accept outragoues prices, 60 euro for a game now, is bad enought, but how would you like, a year from now, that the asking price on steam, is 80-100 euro per game, that's is what's gonna happen when you blindly buy a game, in alpha, for such outrageous amounts

oh, and btw, this is by no means a triple A title, its a indie game, so lets raise it to 120 euro, for say a EA game, have fun with that

at best, this should be 15-20 euro for alpha acces, and even then, its pushing it!

I agree and I do see the point of view you just demonstrated. But people who are born stupid will also die stupid, there's no changing that. If they want 90$ or 83 euro for the Alpha version and 40$ for the full version, then anyone who knows logic will wait it out and pay two times less.

I just don't see what's the big fuss about this, just wait it out if you don't want to pay now. It's not that big of a deal. And most of the people complaining about this pricing wouldn't even report bugs/glitches to the devs anyway.

    just look at this

    www.kickstarter.com/projects/659943965/planetary-annihilation-a-next-generation-rts

scroll a bit down you see marcus persson, developer of minecraft, i bet he is one of the 5 that pledged 10K dollars

What will be next if you say pledge 100K , sleep with the devs wife? rofl this way kickstarter itself is setup to get the money from the peoples in the street that fall for this "new" money stealing scheme. Now of course i don't mind they see it this way as a means to get some nice games to the players, of which big AA game title firms didnt even thought about.
But WHY it should come on steam platform in this same money grabbing form deludes me.

Also of course its pure logic not to buy the alpha and wait it out for the final game which is way cheaper then, till steam puts some special editions also for sale, for way more money then even the original game would cost.

Stop complaining about the price. If it's too much for you, wait for them to get closer to release and lower it.

There's no reason to be upset over the current price; the reasoning has already been explained and it's perfectly sound.

The only difference between this game and games that offer access to the alpha if you pay a certain amount on kickstarter is that the alpha for this one is available on steam if you missed the kickstarter.

As for kickstarter being a 'money stealing scheme'... The total count of people I've heard call it that now rests at 1. You do know the minimum donation to a game project is a massive $1? It's not like you have to fork over every cent you've ever earned or you can't take part.

Yes, it's the same as any forum out there, filled with people complaining over this because now they can't buy the alpha and brag all over the internet how they've played the game before someone else and how that makes them uber cool and increases their swag.

Did you remove a post or something?

Either way the price was way wrong for the game during its Alpha phase, they were expecting people to pay for the privilege of taking part in an Alpha - which to me is morally wrong, you shouldn't have to pay through the nose for testing the game for them.

I agree Dab. Just my opinion, I think a lot of games are over-priced by at least 20%. I'm still not buying any game until it goes on sale at least once.
