Today, Microsoft announced their next generation console... the Xbox One. Link
I was pretty impressed, and that fantasy action sounds legit. The rest sounds a little... out there. I wouldn't have ever really asked for some of the features, but I wouldn't complain if I got them. What do you guys think?
Compared to a high end PC it's a bit dated, but that's not a fair comparison - 8gb ram is ok, the rest is pretty meh.
Honestly look wise i hate it... it looks like they made half then changed their mind half way through.
No backwards compatibility - More money for them, understandable i guess.
More kinect related stuff forced upon us
game lineup i can't comment on as i only listened to the hardware related parts of the conference.
Overall: meh, i'll stick to my pc.
The backwards compatibility will be the killer. The PS4 is also not backwards compatible. At least the Wii-U can play Wii titles. This might actually give Nintendo a leg to stand on as I doubt people are going to be keen on ditching 7 years worth of games just to get a new title or two.
Precisely. And it really couldn't possibly be that hard to maintain backwards compatibility with a new system. Props to Nintendo for keeping it.
Xbox One also won't work unless you buy Kinect with it.
Aaaaaand that's got to be the most absurd thing I've heard in a while.
Moneygrab.
