2100001283 now, which crashed using the latest trainer
to use trainer i copied the 3 files in the data/PC folder to the main folder so it uses again 2100001280, which works with the last trainer, tested it with the tutorial and this time game didnt crash using the latest trainer.
I have already tried doing this, and the result is the same.
Dont matter if Steam are in offline mode or not or if I use version 2100001283 or version 2100001280.
Maybe that solution works for most people but not for me.
Game crashes with a violation error, or just freezes up.

did you copy the 3 files from /data/pc/2100001280 folder to the main folder?, and if so does the game run not using the trainer, or getting a violation error no matter using trainer or not.
I tested it with not copying the files to the main folder, and starting the game directly from the 2100001280 folder, activated the trainer in the main menu, says activated, then started the 1st tutorial and game crashes with a violation error, meaning the trainer needs the 3 files from /data/pc/2100001280 folder in the main game folder.
If that didn't work for you then i have no clue why
I dont understand why you ask me if I did what I already said I did.
But the answer is yes, I did.
I even tried multiple different versions with the trainer, no matter which version I use I get the access violation error when activating the trainer.
I dont have much knowledge about this kind of thing, so I dont know what causes the problem.
The thing is that the trainer worked fine before this last update.
I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that the trainer now has more options than it did before.
Update on this issue.
I decided to try and redownload the trainer.
That seems to have solved the problem.
I was able to activate the trainer without the game crashing.
Maybe the last download got corrupted somehow.

And how would one go about rolling back my version? Im 1 version ahead from the trainer and ive turnt off auto updater now, But still on the wrong version.
The game version which you see when you start a game on the lower left side of screen, in my case its 2100001284, and in your case its 2100001283?
So if i want to run the latest trainer which is made for 2100001280, i need to copy from c:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Wargame Airland Battle\data\pc\2100001280 the 3 files in that folder to the main game folder, which is c:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Wargame Airland Battle, overwriting the 3 files that are already there.
And the game should be running then with the latest trainer.
Also i know for sure the latest trainer cal made is for 2100001280, so logic wise you use the files from that pc\data\2100001280 folder
when you start the game again you will see on the left lower side 2100001280.
