I want to start watching an anime this summer, preferably one on Netflix. The only ones I've watched are Naruto and DBZ. I'm open to pretty much any suggestions.
And it might sound funny, but I would buy a O-Z just to get you in my bedroom.

netflix doesn't have much. try anime44.com.

i would suggest samurai champloo. it's only about 26 episodes but it's a really good show. It's realistic, funny, has a lot of action, and a great plot line. one of my favorite anime's ever

cowboy bebop is another good one and it's made by the same studio as samurai champloo. It's a little less realistic because of the si-fi element in it but it's really fun to watch.

bleach is an interesting anime, and is more like early anime's (inuyasha, DBZ, etc). I enjoyed the show a lot but i feel it has been going on for too long. i stopped watching it around episode 350...that was 2 years ago. It's still worth a shot if you've never seen it though.

i'v been recently enjoying some of nickalodeon's new avatar series The Legend of Korra. I liked the original Avatar: The Last Air Bender, but never followed all the way through the series. This new one seems to be a little more...adult-ish, or mature, i dunno how to put it but i'm liking it more than the former one.

Code Geass is, in my opinion, one of the best television shows ever made. I went through a major phase where I couldn't watch any other anime because it wasn't Code Geass.

I have been looking for a decent anime site. This made my day. Even though I like to watch English dubbed, I can always live with reading :P

Elfen Lied, Blood+, Chobits, Trigun, Angel Beats, Claymore, Cannan, Eden series, and Guin Saga

I would echo the sentiments about samurai champloo and cowboy bebop.

I would also suggest YuYu Hakusho and Gurren Lagaan because they are both great.

I think that technically, Cowboy Bebop is probably the best overall anime. If you want to watch just one, go with Bebop.
