I know, Trojan questions are page 1A of the trainer scene. But the CH Trainer Manager isn't a trainer, and still gets stopped by (ptui ptui) McAffee.
My question, then, is this: why does the trainer manager need behaviour that the system will think makes it a Trojan?

Well, AV tools are extremely strange in a way. You can code exactly the same program only a single call is missing and your AV won't alert you.
Anyway, I guess the executable is not signed and connects to the internet? Or it reads from other assemblies. I've Avira and Microsoft Security Essentials and no problems at all.

Yeah, I suspect that's it. Know of any way to make McAffee back off? I tried asking their tech support how to set up a folder exclude (or even just a button to click for "I know, you idiot, it's supposed to do that", but it doesn't seem to work...

ask for your money back from mcafee and tell them you are swapping anti virus due to their false positives that are ruining your pc experience.. that seems to get a response the best..
