I followed the steps to uninstalling IE10 to the letter. However, when I come around to uninstalling the updates for IE10, it comes up with the error that "An error has occurred. Not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled."

Now I have scanned my laptop with anti-rootkit and full computer scans and nothing came up. I don't have a previous restore point to go to because for some reason it has deleted all of them except for the most recent one which was a day ago.

I've tried re-enabling IE10 and seeing if anything happens as well as numerous reboots. I've tried following the steps again but it always comes to the same error when I try to uninstall the installed updates.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do to get rid of this stupid browser?

This fix worked for me on my old Win 7 computer, but now that I have a new pc with Win 8, no such luck. And there are a few old games that I still play from time to time, including DA:O/A.

Alas, no trainer for me unless someone deems it worthy of updating, I guess.

Well I am glad for everyone that this worked =). But for the ones it didn't I am guessing that you guys are using windows 8. And sadly its true that the bug's in IE causing the issues in Win7 are not able to be removed in windows 8. So far anyways. I am sure people are pressuring MS to make it removable because it's annoying as hell. But I am glad that this worked for you all!

I just came back to check on the state of things, since I'd decided to get DAO out of storage again.

Thanks for posting that link Toki. In terms of playing some of my old favourite games, I'd love to do it. Alas, so many other things I use require me to keep it.

What I'd really love is for them (MS) to fix it. Or for the people here on CH to update the trainer to work on Win8. Or, as a next best, to be able to toggle IE10 on & off as needed. While I'm at it I'll wish for world peace too.
