I've reached the point where I'm taken prisoner, and I use "F" to fight a man with a gun twice and then shoots him, gets into close combat again - needs to use "left" and "right" = A and D, but then a red hand turns up, and that's where I try everything with no luck.. Any help please?

No idea what you are saying, if you could try to be more clear I could probably help.
Red Hand generally means press E.
