Anyone who's played even a fraction of the ArmA 2 series of games has undoubtedly heard by now that ArmA 3 has been in development for a while, and I'm curious to know what others expect from the game (whether or not they currently have access to the alpha) as well as the aspects, changes and/or new content people are looking forward to in ArmA 3 the most as opposed to its recent predecessor ArmA 2.

My expectations? A lot, but to narrow it down somewhat I'll be utterly disappointed if the combat system doesn't hold more 'fluency' in regards to movement. I'm sure many players of ArmA 2 will agree that moving anywhere in the heat of combat was more difficult than the actual firefights if the terrain wasn't 99% flat (which it never was).

My second most important hope for ArmA 3 is the manner of commanding units in the field, including 'response' options via the radio.
ArmA 2 has so many different radio options for various situations that I've only recently within the last couple months begun to understand how to use half of them efficiently (and I've had the game for around a year, likely longer). I guess with so many radio options there isn't really any other method to make it easier or simpler to use but that's what I'm hoping ArmA 3 achieves. After all, who actually chooses a number sequence on their keyboard like '2-5' then '3-1' to order the gunner in my Tusk to shoot at the enemy armor? It's actually faster to get in the gunner's seat myself most of the time. xD

Well I've stated my 2 personal important hopes for what I'd like to see ArmA 3 deliver, what's yours?

By the way I didn't say anything about my expectations for multiplayer for one reason: it's ArmA 3 we're talking about! ArmA 2 has had a sizable longstanding community for quite some time even up to this day so as far as multiplayer is concerned I'll wait until the game's in beta before I begin composing lists.

Discussions commence in T-Minus 1 second. Chat away!

Well, IMHO, from the dev videos and the fact that I now have the Alpha, I can say is that they have resolved a lot of the 'playability' features from A2.... and added in features I was really hoping for (like SCUBA). It will be amazing to see what the community at large adds into this through mods... I just hope they take a lesson from Day-Z and add in the ability to run mods via SQL to record stats of players freely.

The Alpha teaser is pretty awesome like the graphics but the controls still need work

I am looking forward to seeing what tutorial and training systems Bohemia Interactive(BI) will create to help ArmA 3 be more approachable.

    Note: Approachable, not 'dumbed-down'

I personally don't think for a minute that this game is anyway near finished. It's been released yet there is no missions apart from showcases to display what should have been in the finished game. Now I know they say it's coming and there is Mods out (no thanks), so apart from some bad and laggy multiplayer this game is dead in the water.
I kind of feel ripped off by it. Shame really. Oh well, once bitten etc.
