Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Message Board  

Anybody manage to run Oblivion in Windows 8 64bits?

i still use it in windows 7 64, i heard some bad stuff about windows 8

I lost my old PC game disc for Oblivion and figured I'd just buy it again, but on Steam this time. I know some older games can't run on 8 so I looked at the System Requirements and under OS it says Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows XP 64-Bit. I came here to ask if anyone knew if it worked with 8 and I saw this thread. That doesn't seem to bode well for my chances, but has anyone gotten it running on 8 since this thread was started?

Edit: I went ahead and gambled on whether or not it would work before I got an answer. Fortunately it turned out it works. I don't know about the disk version, but the Steam version runs on Windows 8 64bit.

I'm running Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit and it crashes after a few minutes.

I'm running Windows 8.1 64 bit and am able to play without too many problems. I get the occasional crash that I would always get with Win XP, Vista, 7, and 8. Very playable though.
