Howdy, just renewed my account to notice this game won't be updated anymore. Really disappointed to say the least.
However, I did some googling and found a solution on another thread on CH about the CTD issues.
I literally JUST did this and it worked.
Run the shogun trainer as Admin (right click on it and hit run as admin.)
Once you get to the main menu, activate it as usual (F1) to activate it then hit the / key ON YOUR NUMPAD to deactivate it.
Start a new camp/continue camp hit the / again on your numpad to reactivate it then go about your business.
Not sure how long it'll work or anything, so, all I did was get in game did that routine hit the gold button then saved and exited the game. I would probably just do the same.
But what if we need to use Option 1: Unlimited Movement? Anyway, I should have read the forums, I downloaded the latest FotS trainer, got this error, assumed it was the wrong trainer, so now I am downloading Shogun 2 + FotS latest trainer when the first one could have probably worked if I had come here first

Just checking back in here to tell you that the solution he posted worked for me.
Press F1
Press "/"
Continue/Load Game
Press "/" again
Use Options. (I'm guessing it would be for the best to press "/" everytime you end/start a turn).
