If I take MY PC to a friend's house, and I use one of my trainers while I'm connected to the internet over his network instead of my usual gateway / IP address, will I get in trouble?
I know that these trainers authenticate online, and I've always been fine with that... I'm just not sure EXACTLY how it works (specifically how much depends on my IP address) and I'd hate to get ker-banned without knowingly doing anything wrong.
As long as it's my PC, is it cool? (And on a related note, what happens if I get a new PC? I have done so at least once since joining CH, and nothing awful happened, but how does it work exactly?)
I understand you may not want to give out a full technical description of how your authentication technology works, and I'm not trying to trick you into doing so, believe me! I'd just like to know, in general, if there's any kind of behavior (short of uploading a trainer to some public place, obviously) by which I could accidentally flag myself for a ban.
I cherish my CH membership and don't want to do ANYTHING to put it at risk. Thanks for your time!
