I get the same error as above. The file renaming method only works for the Trilogy bought on Origin. I have Mass Effect 2 deluxe with all the DLC bought on Origin. Neither of the trainers available work and renaming the files as described only results in this error:

Invalid License. Reason Code = Missing DLL: [MSVCP80.dll] Error: 0x7E.

Can we please get a trainer for Mass Effect 2 on Origin? Thank you!

I know this isn't exactly what you were looking for, but maybe this will hold you over until you can get the trainer running.
When I played ME2 I used the console commands since I was having some trainer issues. Here is a link to the wiki page that has every available command for ME2.

Just a little less than halfway down, there is a nice 3 column table view of all the commands.

    Ignorance can be fixed.

Appreciate it. I own Mass Effect 2 on Steam as well, so I followed instructions I found elsewhere to download and install all the DLC, and then authorised it through logging on to Cerberus in-game. I checked the game folder versus the one under Origin and confirmed that I wasn't missing anything. The total size (19.1 Gb) and number of files matched. So now I am playing with the Steam trainer instead. As far as work-arounds go, a lot of work just to use a trainer

    I second that!
I also have the digital deluxe edition on Origin and I cant get the current trainer (neither the normal nor the steam one) to work. Both say "Trainer can not find game".
The workaround with deleting and renaming does not work for me either, with the same error message as above.

Please release an Origin version for ME2!

There is a variation of the renaming workaround that DOES work

Rename 4 files - EXE and PAR for each prefix

    MassEffect2.* to ME2.*
    ME2Game.* to MassEffect2.*

    Run from the 'new' MassEffect2.EXE

Steam Trainer working perfectly on all options - tested myself and have had another user confirm working for them. All DLC still active/Cerberus Network will still connect.

    No 'NO-CD' fix needed.

I can confirm that the renaming mentioned above this post DOES work, follow instructions exactly and it WILL WORK on ALL current versions of windows, have tested on 10, 8.1, 7, and Vista.

I have the trilogy and the stand alone game on origin, works with all dlc's installed and works with no dlc installed.

Tried this solution, but it is not working for me.
I have the Digital Deluxe Edition with all DLCs installed - I get the error message missing dll (msvcp80.dll) Error 0x7E.

    @Telcon
You need to rename MassEffect2.EXE and MassEffect2.PAR to ME2.EXE and ME2.PAR, then rename ME2Game.EXE and ME2Game.Par to MassEffect2.EXE and MassEffect2.PAR - when done, should not have a ME2Game.anything. Launch from MassEffect2.EXE - use the Steam Trainer 1.02. This should work on all standalone (and apparently trilogy) ORIGIN versions of the game.
