Whether I launch the game from either executable in the Steamapps folder or if I launch it from within my Steam library, it always takes me directly to Uplay and the game starts from Uplay; there is no further interaction with Steam after the Uplay screen pops up. The Steam icon remains in the systray and I can, of course, hit ALT-Enter to view the in-game steam stuff.
Thanks for the assistance. I think this is the first out of about a dozen and a half trainers that hasn't worked for me, so I'm still pretty happy overall.

Are you able to get into the game with no trainer running?

I'm having a similar problem. The trainer and game worked just fine last month. I went on holiday for 3 weeks, came back, went to fire up FC3 with the trainer and suddenly it doesn't work. When I hit F1 I get an in-game screen about crafting options and so on.
To add to my consternation, the game itself is nowhere to be found on my system. I could have sworn it was on the drive. Now there is no option to "run as administrator', it just says 'open'. Anybody else having this kind of trouble? Gawd I hate these companies, why can't they just let you play your game.

I'm not totally clear what you mean. You were "in game" but then said you can't find the game? And there are "crafting" options in FC3. You know, all the potions and what not. The game isn't located on your C drive under the Steam apps? My path looks like this:
Me and a couple of others have recently found the second trainer is working perfectly. #1 Trainer/Editor has been having a few issues so try #2:
2. FAR CRY 3 TRAINER 1.05 (DX9+DX11)
I just tried that trainer and it's still working just fine.

Btw, since you were gone a few weeks, you might also want to verify the cache files.
In your Steam library, right-click on FarCry 3, select Properties, on 3rd tab selct Verify Integrity Of Game Cache.
And do that for any other games if they're acting a little ditzy.

@dodge444 - Just dawned on me. If you right-click on the icon to run the game and see "Open" at the top but can't find the "Run as Administrator" you are probably clicking on the shortcut made by Steam when it was installed instead of the Exe (or shortcut to the Exe) for the game itself.
