Tropico 4 trainer starts and in game F1 results in "trainer activated" however cheat not activated when numpad key pressed.

Torchlight 2 trainer starts and will activate and game runs fine until a cheat is activated then the game crashes when attempting most tasks.

Any thoughts why trainers will activate but the individual cheats are failing or craching the game?
