Some help when u get a minute, please. I'm new here, not a programmer, but not completely helpless either.
Obtained XCOM via Steam 4 days ago, and have played several hours on it. DL'ed trainer/editor last night. (PC, Win 7, MS NET framework 4.0.)
Unzipped trainer file in buried subdir, then ran executable. (didn't show anywhere, but task manager shows it is running)
After the trainer was launched, I launched game and got to the main menu. Hit F1 as directed, but got nothing.
Watched your video, just to try and see if I had done something wrong early, but for some reason, I'm not getting off the ground here. NOT WHINING!!!
Thanks in advance!
Mike (Don't have a cool alias yet)
Here are a few options to try:
1. Run the trainer/ editor as Administrator.
2. Tab out to the trainer to start it.
3. Make sure that the version is correct. Steam may have patched the game.
4. If none of that helps then check out www.cheathappens.com/show_board2.asp?headID=114478&titleID=19011&onPage=1 for tips on editing the game files directly. Make sure you back up the file before changing anything.
Greetings, first I would like to thank you for the effort put in to create the trainer.
Unfortunately I was not able to get it to work, issue faced:
Able to press F1 and get the "Trainer Activated" voice
Used 2 different save games, one while in the base another during a mission
No further responds when trying to exercise the various NumPad options
Tried launching in Windows mode and launching direct from Steam instead of the desktop shortcut
Even removed antivirus and firewall for good measure
Tried the Borderlands 2 trainer too, got the same results, perhaps something on Steam?
Any advice on something I could try? Thanks in advance
Not sure if this is the issue or not, but just to eliminate it as a possibility. Make sure you run the trainer as an administrator. To do this right click on the trainer icon and select 'properties' from the drop down menu. When the properties window opens up, select the 'compatibility' tab from the top of the window. Near the bottom of the compatibility window there should be a checkbox option that says "Run this program as an administrator". Select that checkbox and activate it, then try running the trainer and see if it works.
