Saving Ammo permanently
Try this: Edit the upper value, shoot with the weapon, reload, save and quit. Load savegame and it should be saved.

Okay, I tried the following with a 4 mag 2shot Shotgun:
I edited the upper value (current ammo). It switched back to the max value and didn't save it.
Edited the max value, then current value, shot the gun once (meaning 2 shells gone), reloaded it. Saved and quit to the main screen. Loaded back in, didn't save.
Edited max value only. Shot once, reloaded, saved and quit and loaded back in. Didn't save either.
Either I misunderstood you or it doesn't work :/

Try again with the update i sent few seconds ago to Chris. I've changed something with ammo and wasn't sure if the steps i mentioned worked with your version.
Update includes the amazing Jackpot Jacky. If you love gambling in BL2, you'll probably marriage Jacky.
Ammo still doesn't save with this version. Tried the same steps again.
Edit: Tried the Jackpot Jacky option. It makes the appropiate slots on the machine show up, but as reported doesn't correspondend to the winnings, if any. An interesting side effect is that the slot machine price was drastically reduced, to 1-10$ depending on the option selected (cherry=1$, rising according to drop-down menu options to Marcus' face=10$).
