managed to get the game the other day and since then after installing it, all i seem to run is a video testing program and not the actual game.
has anyone managed to load the game successfully
I have and Black Mesa: Source is pretty fun. I love how it actually have some pretty funny achievements too.
You need to install Source SDK 2007 via Steam, and then install Black Mesa.
You should be able to run it and play away.
Sounds like you may have either not got the game itself or its testing your system because it doesn't pass a check?
Get it from the official black mesa site.
I DL'd it from the official site, unzipped it, and then installed the title. It runs flawlessly so far. I am with DABhand, either you do not have the actual game, you are missing Source SDK 2007, or your rig can not handle the program. The likelihood of your system not meeting minimum specs is unlikely (see system requirements below). My guess, as not everyone is a fan of Steam, would be that you are not presently running Steam (or at least do not have Source SDK 2007 installed). If you have Steam, but not Source 2007; simply select the "View" tab at the top of Steam, and then select "tools." This will open a selection of optional downloads available to you. Scroll down to "Source SDK 2007." Right click on the title and select "download game." This will install Source 2007. Once this is done attempt to run the Black Mesa Setup. Once it is installed, the game will be available inside your Steam library. If this does not work, then perhaps you have acquired a bad copy of the game. Follow DABhand's advice and obtain the title through the official website: Link . Let us know what your end results are brother.
