There is a demo up on Steam that you can download and try the game.

Tried the demo, and im still getting the game, it does feel a bit console heavy with the controls and such, but it does not hurt the overall feel of the game.

Looks like steam's down right now, you might want to check this before you try and download the demo.

Works just fine for me steam and the download link under the Xcom enemy unknown page under store.

So no idea if it is US based issue or what for me it works just fine.

Argh a 5+ gig demo? makes you wonder how big the real game will be at

Yeah the steam issues seem to have been resolved. If you check the link I provided you can see it was down for about two hours earlier today. Download works now.

I tried the demo. I also have already pre-ordered through steam.
