This was probably for the PhysX problem with the DLC. A big issue with FPS going to crud when you enter the DLC zone.
I have same problem Icepick, Steam have updated application file again. Now version 1.0.30.25244 modified on 26/10/12 (Aussie date format) Trainer not working on this version update. Steam is a real pain in the butt.
Same here also (USA). New Borderlands2.exe update just downloaded from Steam.
File version is now 1.0.30.25244 (10/25/2012). There is an announcement on Steam discussing the changes.
