That sucks that your ASUS machine is defunct. I have personally had absolutely no issues with mine to date, but mind you it is a relatively new machine (six months old). I hope that they can resolve the problem for you. Good luck.
That is the smartest thing I have ever heard anyone say about anything.

My Asus laptop had the same problem, then the power cable caught fire... so I figured out it was the cable causing the issues. See if they will replace the power cable for you?

I've had an Asus laptop for many years, and I'm posting from it right now (a G74sx, I believe). It's had it's share of problems, but I would still buy another Asus.
If it's still under warranty, then contact support and see what they can do. They should be able to replace whatever is wrong. Does the light on the PSU come on? Have you tried taking the battery out, plugging in the PSU, and turning on the computer?
Hopefully it's the PSU or the battery, and you can have it replaced.
