I am making this thread to see if the community supports this idea seeing as several games have been retired due to comments that either a single person or a few people have made. Do you think that these people should be banned instead of the games being retired? I think most people on Cheat Happens really Appreciate the work that Cheat Happens Does. I know I do. They do such a great job. The terms of service already give the CH staff ample authority to ban these people:

We have the right, but not the obligation, to take any of the following actions in our sole discretion at any time and for any reason without giving you any prior notice:

    Restrict, suspend or terminate your access to all or any part of the Services;
Deactivate or delete your accounts and all related information and files in your account

    So what do you think?

That catch-all basically gives the staff full authority to ban for any reason. That being said, I have never seen someone banned at this website without a justified reason attached.

Me, personally, I don't think one bad apple should spoil the whole bunch, but ultimately the people who complain and the people who make worthless loser comments will always be the loudest and color opinion the most. Ultimately, it's up to the founders; they're the ones making the trainers and it's their decision whether to retire trainers that aren't worth the trouble. To be honest, I believe the best way to silence those complainers are to post equally adamant posts in support of the staff and the trainers, that way perhaps the founders won't feel that trainer isn't worth the trouble.

Also since this is a sensitive topic, this topic will be monitored closely by the CH staff. No flaming, people.

If this got enough support I was going to send this to the site founders to show that the community would support them if they were interested in doing this.

Like I was saying elsewhere you can't ban people for complaining, only if they attack personally at the staff.

Or in the rare occassion they ask to be banned, it has happened before :P

They are the atypical customer and are allowed an opinion, but they are those that take it that step further with the "puffed out chest-esque" type arguments. And not to be starting anything, they are usually American or Canadian, because they come from a system that sues everything..

But they don't realise that yes they have rights but only rights laid out via the contract they signed when signing up they agreed to them and thats what they pay for, nothing more.

I wonder if "rights" is the correct term in this case. My only reason for saying that is that I view rights as inalienable to all. However, I personally view the "rights" we have on this site as privileges. Perhaps it is merely a matter of arguing semantics on my part. I think that if more people grasped that there was no guaranteed right to an updated trainer, but rather they have the privilege of enjoying those that are released... we might have less of an issue.
The major downside to my argument of course, is that some people will interpret rights or privileges how ever they want regardless.

That is the smartest thing I have ever heard anyone say about anything.

Well said DABhand,if you get a member that doe's and to Bad-Mouth CHU staff or other members, apart from showing that persons ignorance towards other people is complete EVIDENCE of that persons upbringing, now we all know that to get BANNED from this Happy Place called CHU it must be pretty serious for that member to get banned.

From my experience Frustration can be irritating at the best of times but as human beings we have self control and we always have to remember that, and use it to its maximum.

Without i am asleep i cannot see The hierarchy of CHU withdrawing a Trainer because the odd couple have complained (perhaps i am asleep)about whatever is making them Bad-Mouth, so a Black and white Question of a Yes and No Poll in this instance i think is not a balanced argument. So on this Poll i am sorry to have to abstain.

I don't see how a person who decides to be a jerk should be allowed to run around and ruin the experience for everyone else. I personally know of people that do this on purpose just to cause trouble.

This topic comes as a result of trying to find a solution that affects just those people when they cause a scene and not everyone. If a game is retired because someone was being a jerk then that punishes everyone who plays that game. I am just trying to find an idea that would affect only them and not everyone.

If anyone else has an idea that punishes just the people who cause problems and not everyone and would like to share please do. I agree that getting trainers is a privilege. As such we should as a community do everything in our power to protect that.

TRUST. I continue to pay for CH services because I TRUST (not expect) that CH will have day 1 trainers and stay reasonably up to date on the lastest games, and to their credit, they usually deliver

The jerks that make abusive comments to the staff are EXPECTING day 1 trainers, perfect trainers immediate updates; they feel entitled.....

CH is run by humans, not cyborgs with no need to sleep, have a social life, etc. Just because someone has a paid membership does not give them the right to make abusive comments to the staff, they are not your slaves.

So yes, HELL YES, members that continually berate the staff should be given a vacation, and if need be, a permanent banning.
