    Hello all.

Any idea how to keep sonar on in Norton 360 AND run the trainer? As soon as I unpack it, it is detected as a virus and automatically deleted. The only way I can get trainers to work is if I turn off SONAR, but that opens my system to parallel attacks from other sources. Ideas? Thanks!

How to do that should be in your program's documentation. If all else fails you will have to temporarily disable that product while you use trainers or you may have to find a replacement program altogether. See the link in my signature on proper computer security. AV is actually the last line of defense and there are many other protections that hinder malware before the AV needs to intervene (and do so much more effectively than SONAR).

SONAR is simply a proprietary heuristic engine designed by Symantec prone to false positives by design. It's design is to stop zero-day malware that is launched before the exploit is discovered by software companies or security researchers or they have released a proper patch for it (which is actually a rare event nowadays). It isn't as significant as Symantec makes it out to be.
