Not sure if DotA counted as a MMO or not, Otherwise I play it as well.
Not an MMO as such, but Tribes: Ascend is fun, free to play and you can purchase upgrades through XP gained, some unlocks will take a fair bit of time and great gameplay from the player to get big XP per match.
Or you can buy gold coins from the store, people outside of the US make sure you purchase them in US currency as you will save a bundle, at the moment its £6.99 for 800 gold coins which is about $11.20 and they sell 800 gold coins in USD for $9.99.. see the difference.
Alternatively if you have a lot of friends on facebook, advertise the game through your own little private link and bring your friends in, each one gets 5k XP, but the more you bring in the bigger the rewards including gold coins, up to the point that 10,000 referrals that get to level 6 = an all expenses paid trip to the developers studios....
