Considering post count reduction is a disciplinary measure, and most new members care about post count, it wouldn't be in the best interests of CHU law and order if post counts were removed altogether.

aside from the trainer topics, the message boards have slowed down considerably in comparison to previous years. post quality is not really a big issue right now as most 'C-rap' posts stay in the OTD board. moderators are bored because of the lack of stupid topics and posts that once plagued the forum.
visible post count has been a feature of this site as far back as i can remember...as well as with almost any other forum on the web. The star ranks were added to encourage members to post more as kog stated before, and the serve as a disciplinary tool for the mods as nic stated above.
i think the site should do the exact opposite of what this topic suggests and add some kind of reward system to the star ranks to add more incentive to post...so that i have something to do lol

Oh, in the General Discussions? Well, it depends how strict you are, really. Does it really matter if one gets 10 posts extra per day (and that's being generous) on funny/interesting share-your-opinion topics? :-/

The post count gives members an incentive to participate and be more active. Definitely there are some nonsensical and pointless comments. Still, I believe it's a fun fact that we get some sort of recognition for our commenting and sharing our thoughts. But, controlling what people say or the quality of words can be achieved easily by some rules. Nevertheless, I believe CHU is at a good level. Chats and discussion are according to thread topics and what so on.
Post count is vital for community threads.

I believe that the post count should stay. Like most have said, its a good incentive for those who want to get some sort of satisfaction out of posting. I admit, I was one of those people, but now I really only comment on things that I have something to say about.
