Human jaw muscles can generate a force of 200 pounds (90.8 kilograms) on the molars.

The Skylab astronauts grew 1.5 - 2.25 inches (3.8 - 5.7 centimeters) due to spinal lengthening and straightening as a result of zero gravity.

Mars is the home of "Olympus Mons", the largest volcano found in the solar system. It stands about 27 kilometers high with a crater 81 kilometers wide.

Between Mars and Jupiter, is a Dwarf Planet known as Ceres. It was discovered in 1801. It is the smallest dwarf planet discovered in our universe (so far) and is the only one found in the asteroid belt.

20/20 vision means the eye can see normally at 20 feet. 20/15 is better; the eye can see at 20 feet what another eye sees at 15 feet.

The average person has 100,000 hairs on his/her head. Each hair grows about 5 inches (12.7 cm) every year.

There wasn't any orange carrots once upon a time. There were yellow, red, white and purple carrots, but then these Dutch people cross-bred yellow and red carrots together to make orange carrots to celebrate the House of Orange.

The claim that eating carrots lets you to see in the dark is a myth. It was made up during WW2 by the Britons to come up with a cover story for their radar equipment which actually allowed them to 'see' in the dark. In actual fact, a lack of Vitamin A can make your vision worse, so eating carrots to bring up your Vitamin A levels will help restore your vision.

The Chandler wobble is a small variation in Earth's axis of rotation, discovered by American astronomer Seth Carlo Chandler in 1891. It amounts to 0.7 arcseconds over a period of 433 days. In other words, Earth's poles move in an irregular circle of 3 to 15 metres in diameter, in an oscillation.
