I posted this in another thread too but just so everyone is on the same page "the truth" DLC was a fake.

The end of the game is "the end".

This was leaked from the final days app that has all the developer notes: www.me3finalhours.com/

I have my doubts about the validity of the stated "true ending" DLC, but I hold out my hopes for something like it.

Anyway, as I was going to say, if they were planning to surprise us with a big "true" ending DLC, they're hardly going to advertise it in an App. It'd kinda kill the surprise.

Plus, Bioware has not come out and said it is a fake yet. If The Truth was fake Bioware would have said it was right away.

Though I appreciate the sentiment, and it would make things go so much smoother if everyone just agreed with me.

    Sorry, had to.

Will read it when I've saved the Citadel. Again.

    Women, jeez.

I read the link you posted too. As you said, some interesting stuff. Some I've mentioned myself, some I've argued against, but overall some well written and made points.

My only gripe is that some of the "damage control" tactics he's describing are the exact same one's he's using by explaining it all. I wonder if anyone else has picked up on that?

I'm known to be excessively paranoid and critical of everything anyone does, but it would be safe to assume BioWare has staff who post as regular users, either to try to placate actual regular users, turn the topic of a thread, or maybe try to inflame a situation depending on what it is. "atghunter" sounds a lot like he's doing just that.

I'm not saying there aren't industry "insiders" all over the place, or people with intimate knowledge of how things work, but most don't advertise the fact unless that have an ulterior motive to it.

A quick example of what I mean:

"Continue to make your voices heard. Give them the concise arguments I’ve read on this forum a hundred times (regardless of your side). This is a game of choices, and call me an old optimist, but I have to believe there is enough room on my hard drive for some endings for both the producers and we consumers. Continue to post respectfully, but with the passion and conviction that inspires an old gamer like me. If you do, and this ultimately turns out to be a deflection, it is a dangerous one for EA/Bioware."

Sounds a whole lot like the "statements" BioWare and their forum reps have been putting out doesn't it? Also sounds a whole lot like the marketing tactics he says BW/EA are using.

Like I said, I'm paranoid to the core, but that guy seems almost too good to be true.

Not to mention that, if he is just some guy on the forums who happens to have PR insider knowledge, just because that's how he has done things in the past, doesn't necessarily mean that's how things are being done now, in the situation.

EDIT: I wish I could put my finger on what bothers me about that guys posts. It's not that I agree or disagree with him. It's just all too... well, too good to be true, like I said. It's too polished. Generally speaking if you think something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. It's exactly what people want to hear, and that's what bothers me.

Here we have an expert able to explain everything which is going on to the everyday layman like myself in a way which is clear and understandable, while at the same time encouraging the discussion and movement, keeping everyone calm and on topic, while not saying that things will change if everyone keeps at it (or has he put it, saying a lot while not making any promises). Again... sounds a whole lot like what BW are doing doesn't it?

You know that nagging feeling you get at the back of your mind when you know something's up, but you can't put your finger on it?

Something else though, which has nothing to do with this guy, is all of the hate being thrown at the wrong places. Most people are directing their anger at the development team as a whole and it's just not fair. They're a group of extremely talented individuals who have crafted a gorgeous Galaxy for us to play around in. The person, or people, that should be the receptacle of all of this hate is the writer(s). He's the guy responsible for writing the endings (or they, if there's a group of writers). The dev team just implements what they're told.

EDIT: My apologies for the increasingly long post, but I just read a post on the BWS thread which sums up my thoughts on the PR guy's series of posts better than my entire ramble did:

"If I was working for EA Public Relations, I'd go onto the BioWare forums and explain exactly what I was doing to the fans. Outline the strategies, make the community dependent on me for insight and commentary.

Then, when I needed to win, I'd simply not be there in the eleventh hour. The community would be so incapable of understanding what I was doing without my commentary, they wouldn't even notice I'd just stabbed them in the back."
