That said, the Pirate-era is awesome and definitely attracts me more than most settings.
But guns? Who needs guns? Gimme a cannon! Pirate-era without useable boats & cannons? Inconceivable! Just kidding, a little. I don't expect Risen 2 to include full explore-the-seven-seas gameplay. They have to let you use a pistol and sword combination, though!

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to own your own ship, but I don't know if you can cast off and sail around the game.

Upcoming games. Game of Thrones 5/15 - Diablo III 5/15 - The Witcher II 4/17.
Dates are probably subect to change but these are the next games to check out.
Game of Thrones - we'll see, Diablo III - pass, The Witcher II - got it on PC.
