i wish there would be a 3 hour ceremony on tv with alot of famous people there for actual heroes and people who died in service of their country (like our troops) rather than 'superstar' people who have ruined their lives with bad decisions. i have nothing against whitney herself, she WAS a fantastic singer. just that sometimes people really have a warped sense of what is important or who 'gave us' so much of themselves..

    my 2 cents,

THANK YOU, my god, finally someone else agrees.

She sings and gets this, we fight and our family gets a flag and a "I'm sorry"

To be honest, we should mourn the deaths of people who actually contribute to society in ways that celebrities don't. People who are police officers, firefighters, paramedics, nurses, doctors, inventors, garbage collectors, cleaners, postmen, cooks, farmers etc.

It seems these days no one cares about normal people doing normal but incredibly vital jobs. We even disrespect people who have no choice in their profession or choose to be plumbers, electricians, construction workers etc. despite how crucial and respectful their job is.

It's just sad. If it wasn't for these people, life as we know it could not be and leisurely professions such as acting and singing would not exist.
