If I bought a DVD and shared it over the internet I would no doubt be a pirate.

But what if I had a couple of friends over and showed them the same DVD? Everyone has done this. Are we all pirates?

What about 10 friends? 100? is there a limit?

I think there's a big warning dealio at the beginning of movies that says "for home use only" so when you buy a movie and watch it with some friends it's okay.

I get your point though, I personally have no qualms with sharing some media that in the end only hurts some giant faceless conglomerate megacompany although I dont personally pirate stuff, shockingly enough. With me, the line is drawn when you start pirating stuff from small businesses. You're actually hurting someone's ability to earn a living then.

    2. Unauthorized usage of software in accordance of the EULA that came with the software (often in the form of using it without a license).

    Plundering, looting and pillaging.
Unless you're a pirate from One Piece. The definition of a pirate in One Piece is having a lot of nakama.

I totally agree. I always support quality products from small businesses and large companies for that matter. But I have been ripped off so many times by bad games/movies that are not even worth a rental fee. So I really don't see the problem with trying something out for free first. Even with pirates at the end of the day if the product is good, the developer will make boatloads of money.

I agree games today do not come cheap maybe thats why they have Demo's so we can make our mind up b4 we buy,i personally use You Tube t watch a small shot of a game, and i also know that all games do not have Demo's

At the end of the day Piracy is illegal and if you break the Law and get caught then you and me deserve the punishment, regardles of the reasons why,how many of us have used Freeware, and many others and downloaded music and movies,we all know that music and movies are overpriced and even thats no excuse.

For me its the big corporations thats on the backs of the politicians putting pressure on them, in return you will get big Bucks for your party's support!! for me thats legal corruption, and its here to stay.

Why the hell should we pay for stuff that sucks. I hate to pay for clothes which are for example from china and are low quality. But clothes are a physical thing and it costs physical resources to make them. Yes digital content also needs physical and mental resources, but in the end if you turn the power off, digital content does not exist, so why should we pay for something that exits only in virtual reality and it's crap? Why not let us choose, examine and then pay if we like it, you also try clothes on, before you buy them and they don't have only a demo version of them...

Definition of piracy depends on the country you're in. For example, in my country you're not a pirate if you just download games or movies from illegal sites. You're a pirate only if you start multiplying stuff and selling it.
