Star Wars: The Old Republic Message Board  

I'am undecided because i like knights of the old republic but i don't like WoW. so i don't know if i should buy it or not.

Despite people comparing this game to WOW...It is NOT.
Yes,it is similiar and has similiar aspects.It is an MMO.
I would compare it to Mass Effect if i was to compare it to anything.
It has a great solo quest/story-line to each of the eight classes.
It has great lore as well.
If you liked KOR,will will like TOR.
Iam personaly enjoying this game Alot.
As far as the online,classes,and online play,it is similiar to WOW.
IMO get it.

But i still need a time card to play the game even though im not playing multiplayer...right?

It's an MMO.It's always going to be multi-player/online.And,yes you do need a time-card to play.
Just like WOW.

this game is fun...but i dont like the graphics, honestly they are almost worse than the first kotor game...nonetheless it is very fun to play

Have to agree with 'dstates', the graphics are a bit cartoonish, but the game play is very smooth and very adictive, "just one more mission before bed, then another, and another..."

It's a good time to join, as most players are at a reasoably low level, so you won't feel to intimidated. If you want to level up quickly, play as a Sith (The quick and easy route).

A great game, has made me redefine my outlook on past MMO's.

I couldn't have said it better...i hated the idea of MMOs, but i am so into SW:TOR, i have three characters. All to think i 'accidentally' bought the game thinking it had an offline mode. Be sure to join a guild, it'll make starting fresh a lot easier.
