Fallout: New Vegas Message Board  

Hello everyone! I am a big fan of the Fallout franchise, and I have not beaten New Vegas yet, but I saw on the Bethesda main website that there is an "Ultimate Edition" coming out in February 2012 which includes all the DLC currently available for the game. I already own the original game for PS3, but have not yet bought any of the DLC for it through PSN. Gamestop has this game listed for pre-order at a price of $50, and as it works out, I would actually save a few dollars to trade in my current game and buy the Ultimate Edition. This is the same thing that I did last time with Fallout 3, but I experienced a few problems with the game after upgrading to the "Game of the Year Edition." I never had freezing or lagging issues with the original Fallout 3 game, but after I got the GOTY Edition it started to freeze my entire system and I would have to turn it off and restart to play the game again. I experience the same issues with New Vegas, but I am wondering if the Ultimate Edition will suffer even more so from these issues with the addition of all 5 DLC packs. I would prefer to wait until February and get the Ultimate Edition, but not if the freezing and lagging issues are going to be worse. What do you guys think would be the best course of action here?

I've purchased all of the DLC for PS3, though I've got an older PS3, I experience the freezing and lagging before the DLC was loaded. Bethesda mentions the lagging for the PS3 due to the the processor being used as well as the video memory. I didn't have a chance to finish game, gave up since game froze every time I played, purchased the Ultimate Edition for computer where I don't have any issues.
