I just saw the option when i was talking to him, did not even see a quest for it.
From le wiki "One possible way of fixing this glitch is to NOT loot the Left Eye from Mercer, instead use the console (default `) use the command "setstage TGLarceny 80" and then add the item into your inventory with "player.additem 1994F" (Left Eye: 1994F; Right Eye: 1092B8). <[Edited by Lizml86, 11/30/2011 1:18:59 PM]

What if I already looted it from Mercer's corpse? Tried using the setstage command, Delvin doesn't have the option to sell it.

I've had this problem with trying to sell the golden bee statue. Sold every other acquirable special item, but I just don't get the option for the bee. I haven't tried since the game was patched though.
I believe I reloaded an earlier save and got the ship last, and couldn't sell that, so maybe it's just the last item you get which you can't sell, whatever it is.

Won't get the pop up to return it to Delvin, got it on previous character. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Also don't start the you can only sell one nonsense, please, I know that. What I mean is I can sell neither.

There is no quest attached to the right eye, so you can do whatever you wish with it, you cannot turn it into Delvin or anybody else in the game for a quest reward.
I sorry meant to say thats all I could find about glitches for that quest/mission. I just handed the left eye it to Dev there for 2000 Gold. So not sure what is causing it to not work for you mate.
