Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Discussion
*Sigh* I can play for hours on end without a crash.
What are your specs?
If you use a 32-bit Windows OS you might want to enable the 3gb switch if you have enough RAM, it helped me with many games.
Update your drivers and DirectX aswell.
Personal Experience: I couldn't run Skyrim on Medium until I updated my drivers. And those 'old' drivers were from 2 weeks ago. Now I run it maxed out, go figure.
If that doesn't help, when does it crash? Pure randomness? Or during transfers? Got any mods?

For the record, I haven't updated my video drivers in over a month (pure laziness on my part). This game has yet to crash on me of it's own accord, and I've been playing it since release day.
I have 8gb of ram, a quadcore, and GTX460, yet it still happened.
However, as soon as I started a new game, had just 1 crash, the rest of the time, have been playing for 3 and 1/2 hours straight, without any problems. So i cannot give you a fix.
running vista 32, with crapy GTS 450 and 4 gigs of ram..
check specs of others that are having these problems ... perhaps u will find a common factor !
"cursed to live thus bring ruin to life"
Nope only had one or two crashes while playing but that was my fault I overloaded my system. Watch my TV shows and run Bionic in the back ground.
Only had some quest glitches with mine. Other than that. She works perfectly fine on my system
WinXP Pro 32bit
2GB DDR2 RAM
Pentium 4 3.0GHz (single core)
Radeon HD 3850 AGP (yes, agp!)
180GB Hard drive (65% freespace)
I'm, of course, playing with Low Graphics since my computer is Below Minimum Specs to play this game. I have no mods other than occasionally running the CHTrainer, but rarely turning it on. I defrag every day as well as keeping the number of saves to around 20 (plus the 1 quicksave and 3 autosaves).
When my game does freeze or crash it's during;
1) about 3-5 seconds after a fast travel - while the graphics are still loading npcs/objects on screen. (rare)
2) hitting the map button twice too quickly or going from world map to local map before the markers load up. (rare)
3) randomly finding one of the glitches. (rare)
4) just pushing my old machine way too hard with tons of Alt-Tabbing and 3-4 browser windows open behind the game. (Mostly)
I haven't updated my drivers since early October. My computer is severely out of date and underpowered for this game. I can't walk 100feet in the wilds without the game lagging to load the next cell. But, for the time I've played on an Unpatched 1st Release, I have to say I've had much fewer problems than I thought I would have had.
P.S. I'm building a new computer this coming weekend... Just For Skyrim!
