Just keep playing. There are other quests to do. Just keep talking to him after missions you do, and eventually he'll offer to cook for you. I just don't remember specifically what that point is.

It's not the patch either. I played it after it was patched and I've not encountered any bugs like that, nor have I read of any. You could try googling it I suppose.

I'd like to do other quests. But all of the one's I have left require me to leave Sanctuary. Every time I try to leave (other than to go back to the dungeons or up to the hospital) Drake says "There's no reason to go there" or something equally inane. Oh really? No reason to go to the cemetery? Gee, I only have some skulls or stuff to gather, that's all.

I think I need a party to continue, and I can't get a party without cooking!!! Frack! The game's been so simple up to now.

I think I have figured out this bug...

Spoiler:

Do not talk to the chef right away, instead, talk to the princess first to learn that you will need to get fried chicken, before you talk to the chef! If you talk to the chef first it seems to lock his responses, thereby locking you out of making your guild and making it unable to go into any of the other quest areas because you can't make a team until you can have your own guild. I also suggest that you don't do any cooking other than what you need to complete quests, as you only have a finite amount ingredients.

You need to talk to Norai,that fat guy in the Sanctuary.

You'll need to cook anyway to progress in the game.

you need to buy the recepi thr goblin ( 100 gold) or
buy the passworld ( 200 gold)then use the royle cook to cook green cookies. hope it helps
