Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Message Board  

ok as the topic states it refuse to start.
it installs fine, all needed software installs fine to.
i push play it starts the launcher detects my graphic card etc. then when i start the game it self where the startup with the logo is supposed to show up not a bloody thing happens.
all i see is a blank, black screen. i have updated drivers and everything... i am running out of ideas what to do to get it to start. i am well within the minimum needed specs to run it. i need a helping hand or ive spent 200€ on the collectors edition on a nonworking game.

Now this is the first time I have heard this glitch and also 200euro's No enough products to = the value. But I digress!

Right usually I say update your drivers but you say you have done that. Then I say role back your graphics drivers, Might be a issue with them. If not. Then there might be something in your system not allowing it to run.

Now I can not help much if you are running a 64bit win7 system. I still see that as an unstable games platform even tho its said to be better for games.

i have 285.79 of the nvidia drivers wich should i test of the older ones..

Not sure if this will help, but I had to go into:

Control Panel
Sound Options
speakers
advanced options

and change the format to 24 bit 44100 HZ

I had it set at 192000hz...try that?

ok after some screaming curses, unholy rituals and sacrifices of expensive items to unspeakable gods i have FINALLY gotten skyrim to run. it showed out to be the skyrim.ini under "my games" didnt update as it should. it had leaved the entries below [Archive] completely empty i found that out by comparing every single bloody textfile/ini file with that of my girlfriends installation that worked and now the problem is solved and i can FINALLY go out in the world of skyrim and get horribly, brutaly beaten up by everything that moves
