Retail Or Steam Version? on L.A. Noire PC Message Board - Page 1

Which version is better to buy? The retail version or the steam version of the game?

I've heard that the retail version does not need steam to run but I'm not sure if that is true.

So which version is the better one to buy?

Think retail uses G4WL to activate the game via a serial, like the previous GTA titles.

Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

Thank you so vey much for the reply. I would like to use Steam in playing the game since it automatically updates the game and you can redownload the game if you want or need to but I also like the idea of installing from a disc as well. I see advantages to installing the game either way.

trainer was made with STEAM version and there is no G4WL in the steam version

The PC version uses the Rockstar Social club to update the game for you, there is no more Games For Windows live **** anymore. (i'm happy about that!).
