I wouldnt bother upgrading anymore. Once the game settles down, you can bring out a mega trainer or something for now, editing the save games is incredibly easy.
Ive made it so i have tonnes of money, all my construction invoices take 1 turn, all research takes 1 turn(all at the same time) all my planets are size 20 have massive resources and have perfect biosphere, all my admirals have top level skills, Ive even editied my ships designs directly to give them more power/crew/supply etc.
well, you shud let it update, sins the game isnt actualy finish yet, they pre relest it so they cud get money to finish it, othervise it wud have been canseld
