I guess ACTA is not only affecting to those who are involved in copyright infringement, but seems to affect the freedom of speech that all of us have. Here Neo7 has made a great point, but what's the use of the internet if ACTA is going to police all the blogs and portals where we express our opinion? Earlier I read about cases where people were caught just for joking about the President (IIRC).
And if ACTA is just going to maximize and put an e-dictatorship on the internet...I guess we should stand against such a draconian body.
Link to such cases? It's one thing to make the claim and another to provide evidence for it.

I dont really know how I feel on this... I feel like even if that did go into effect, it wouldn't change things to much. No matter what, people are still going to download things illegally. They can't stop it.
i think all it can really achieve is to have a deterrent effect at best on some. the Internet is far too big to be effectively monitored...they know it and we know it.

If it has anything to do with downloading products illegally (Copyrights etc) then I'll be heading to jail in no time.

just a thought, how many people here download products illegally but since they are a member of this site and feel connected to it because of membership consider people who rip calibers trainers are scum? and if so can any of you give a proper reason why your stealing isnt as bad
I never really downloaded all the way through highschool, aside from music. But once I got to university 4 years ago and discovered the magic of up to 12MB/s downloads I've been downloading TV Shows.
Never been big on downloading movies. If a friend has a good one I'll get it from them but I'm basically exclusive to downloading TV shows. I like to watch TV while I eat lunch and dinner and school doesn't give me the time to watch TV shows when the newest episode is on.
