i've looked at this game pretty extensively and for now all i have been able to come up with is massive treasury (money). is this useful at this point? the game seems to store things in a wonky way and has alot of script code.
Hard to tell man, we can expect several updates in this and upcoming month.
Of coarse it will be nice if you do trainer in fact if my memory serve mi well in Sword of star you need just 2 think to win.
1) Add or freeze money 2) Maximal population on all player planet
and 1 turn infrastructure really help 2.
Research tree aka tech tree can be easily edited and also ship parts can be modified to withstand a loooot more dmg. All in almighty wordpad
In fact research cheat from SotS 1 was not really helpful because it unlocked all technology everyone, trust me bad thing in early part of game.
I hope this help.
P.S. thx a loot for your dedicate work on field of cheating I cant imagine games without trainers from you guys ( of coarse I can, but with cheats it is bigger fun )

Would you mind posting the method for doing this for us? I'd look it up myself, but I've put the game aside for a while until it's been patched up a bit more. It'd be nice to have the information when I come back to it.

thanks for your feedback. this game is not 'exactly' like the old one. also, there is no real 'tutorial' to walk you through it.
perhaps you can tell me an easy way to get to one of my planets and look at it and tell what the population is?
Just create a new game, then once the game starts, you'll see your star systems, surrounded in whatever color you choose before hand. click on one of those star systems, then on the left side you will see how many planets there are in that system. then click on the planet that had the color in it. you will get a small box, with all the info on it, including how much population there is.
But to be honost it allready starts in the millions, so as long as we have money and maybe 1 turn tech or something like that. it should be ok.
The game stores savegames in sqllite 3 format. You can edit it with any sqllite editor (Firefox Addon - SQLLite Maganer for example). The format is pretty simple and for now i was enable to edit money, techs(not fully, need update on this) and so on.
The game stores saves in "system_drive":\"Users|Documents and Settings"\"UserName"\Saved Games\Sword of the Stars II\Saved Games\"profile_name"\
