when to turn on cheats on Rage PC Message Board - Page 1

Regarding the Trainer, Unlimited Health, Mega Ammo, No Rel....

Just a quick question, after u hit F1 at the main menu to activate the trainer, when is the right time to turn on the cheats via the numpad? at the main menu or after gameplay has started? just curious what would be best! thx!

I usually turn on the desired cheats as soon as I'm into the game with my character. You could actually turn them on whenever you like, though.

becareful using the cheats. found if you start a NEW game and press F1 to activate trainer game will crash. so im act not using the trainer at all atm. seems to be messing up my game to much. its alot harder ofc no advantages. but it is a new game so give it time hope the trainer will be fine for me sometime soon.

this wouldnt have anything to do with your comment in the other thread about using the old trainer with the updated game, would it?

because.. you know.. the game will crash using an old trainer for the new version of the game, and doesnt particularly have any bearing on this issue. just sayin'.

Also it says to use f1 at the game main menu, so you shoulda hit f1 well before you start a new game

I just started to use the trainer when I was about a couple of missions in. Causes my game to crash.

Rage seems to Crash if the Health cheat is active while its loading a new section of map or mission instance.

Just deactivate the cheat before you have to travel.

Some of the other cheats like mega items and the ammo cheat dont seem to affect the travelling/loading crash.
Obviously im not 100% sure if its just me, but I thought i'd post anyway.

Althought its an amazing game. even without a cheat active or the trainer, it still crashes when loading. but it takes longer, with the cheat trainer and cheats active while Rage starts to load something. Just seems a big no no lol
