An odd Steam issue... on General Discussions Message Board - Page 1

I'm having a strange issue with Steam. When I go to play a game, the graphics are all flipped 90 degrees. So I'm looking at the game sideways. Any idea what could be causing it or how to fix it?

Oddly enough, it's Portal that's doing this to me. Thanks Loop! I'll post an update if I find something there that works.

I thought it was Portal related. Mine works normally though.

Do you have your graphic card profile set to Landscape or Portrait?

Portrait is more vertical than horizontal.

Err... pardon my ignorance here, sorry. I think so. I'm not entirely sure how I go about checking that though. I'm on WinXP SP3.

EDIT: Read your post again. Definitely Landscape.

I apologize in advance for the double post.

I fixed the problem. When the game opens, go to "Options" > "Video" > "Screen Resolution" > and then select whichever resolution is marked '(native}'. That fixes it right there! Thanks for the help @LoopDaLoop and @DABhand!
